Welcome to ePSUM's Wiki.

The ePSUM project aimed to normalize, structure, and share health data across several Belgian hospital institutions, relying on Belgian CareSets, HL7/FHIR standards, BIHR principles, and the IPS (International Patient Summary) model.

The project sought to demonstrate the feasibility of real clinical interoperability through:

  • the deployment of both local and shared FHIR infrastructures;
  • the transformation of clinical data using EMS Healths AI engines;
  • the large-scale production of standardized patient summaries;
  • the development of a clinical application, the Patient Explorer, enabling a consolidated, validated, and fully traceable view of the patient;
  • the experimentation of an oncology data model aligned with HL7 Europe PHOENIX, and its transformation into OMOP-CDM for secondary-use scenarios

The project was coordinated by Benjamin Pirotte (benjamin.pirotte@citadelle.be).
