Welcome to Smartcare's Wiki.

Multidisciplinary introduction of smartglasses in healthcare: The added value of using smartglasses was tested across several use cases, including emergency care, complex wound care, and collaboration between hospitals and home care services. The evaluation was carried out using PREM and PROM analyses for both healthcare professionals and patients.

  • Focus on videocalls
  • Collaboration between primary and secondary care using smartglasses
  • Integration with the EHR: an integration was set up connecting the smartglasses with the KWS electronic health record. This allows users to scroll through a patients file directly via the smartglasses.
  • Integration of AI software: within the EHR integration, AI software from IntelliProve was added, enabling remote measurement of a patients vital parameters by filming their face for 20 seconds.
  • All parameters are stored as FHIR resources in KWS, after which they flow into the FHIR repository of AZ Groeninge. From there, these FHIR resources can easily be shared with other hospitals with a FHIR repository or with platforms such as Cozo.

The project was coordinated by Lieselotte Vandeputte (lieselotte.vandeputte@azgroeninge.be).
